I've always been kinda interested in the Pentax Q. The image quality won't be amazing, but it's a tiny little camera with a decent set of features. Until now it's always been a bit expensive. http://www.dpreview.com/news/2013/01/28/Pentax-Japan-offers-colorful-special-edition-Evangelion-Q10 Well that aspect hasn't changed, but now I'm interested in the colours, there's an Eva tie-in. Plus the Q10 is a spec-bump on the original, so I imagine they've ironed out a few bugs here and there, too. = Specs = * Q specs * Q10 specs Quick outline: * 1/2,3" sensor * 12.4 megapixel * ISO 120-6400 (previously 125-6400) * 3" LCD, 480x320 (3:2 ratio) * Illumination EV1-18 * Popup flash GN7 at ISO 200, covering 28mm FOV * Should X-sync to 1/2000th (in-lens leaf shutter) = Ordering = The Eva tie-in has a Unit-00, -01 and -02 variant. Was tossing up between the relaxing colour scheme of the 00, and the fiery red of the 02. Went with Asuka, because fuck being boring. * Pentax Q10 with standard zoom lens: 50,425 yen * Spare D-LI68 battery: 3,519 yen = Shipping = Dammit, Japan. Apparently shipping batteries is bloody hard: http://www.survivingnjapan.com/2012/12/japan-post-ship-electronics-with-lithium-ion-batteries.html In short: the spare battery, in its consumer packaging and all safely sealed-up, can't be sent by airmail. However if it's inserted into a camera then that would be okay. Screw this, it can be surface-shipped with the slab of Skal that I'm getting.
