A place to dump notes about hardware specs and configs.

Switches

I have an HP ProCurve 1410-24G (J9561A). It has 24 gigabit ports, two of which are dual-personality - you can use either standard copper, or an SFP module for fibre connectivity. I bought it because it's gigabit, and has an internal PSU (standard IEC inlet on the chassis), and is quiet.

This is good to know, because it's not friggen documented elsewhere: "Support for up to 9216-byte Jumbo frame size"

NAS

Iowa: Synology DS916+ with 5 drive bays. I'm lazy and using SHR with one disk of redundancy - I guess that's basically RAID-5, eww. I got it because I need something a bit more reliable and easier to work with than my NAS4free tower PC, and it's been a pleasure so far.
