This is an older model that I've used before. I tried a second run on this stick and... it seems to have incurred an error that makes it unwriteable now :/

Seems like this might be the cause, it's basically bricked. Apparently the drive will go read-only in hardware if it detects a power fluctuation or some sort of error, so it keeps your data safe. :(

Retesting immediately after shows the random reads drop to about 4 MB/s, so what's going on there? Obviously this isn't very trustworthy.
