I'd like an electric standing desk. My current desk is pretty good, but I really have been feeling that it's difficult to focus sometimes without sitting down. A little wider would be nice too, but that's negotiable. Otherwise, it should be sturdy and easy for me to mess with, as I'll probably drill holes in it and mount stuff on it. = Final selection = I got the Omnidesk 180cm (BIG!!) with black legs and white straight-edge tabletop, ordered it during their Christmas/Thanksgiving sale. It was $925 all up including shipping, after including a couple of accessories like the cable management bar, single monitor arm, and a headphone hanger. <> = Reference dimensions = * Current desk is 127cm wide (50 inches), which is not bad but wider is strongly preferred * Current desk is 70cm deep (27.5 inches), which is okay * Kat's desk is 150cm wide (59 inches) * Glass dining table is 73cm (28.75 inches), which is too high for seated use = Requirements = == Height requirements == * Minimum height must be 70cm (27.5 inches) or less to top of tabletop * Normal standing usage is 104cm or just under == Features == * Height controller needs 2+ memory positions * Cable tray wanted * Monitor arm not needed * Builtin power boards not needed = Offerings = I see a few brands promoted a lot through Facebook and Instagram ads, let's check them out. * Zen Space Desks - https://www.zenspacedesks.com.au/product/expert-gaming-desk-2-0/ * Omnidesk - http://theomnidesk.com.au/ * Battlestation - https://www.battlestationdesk.com/ I'll spec out a common set of features at each seller * 150cm desk * Cable tray = Pricing = * Battlestation: $1108 + $60 delivery = $1168 * Omnidesk: shipping already included for $855 * Halloween sale reduced to $820 * Zen Space Electric Sit-Stand Gaming Desk Expert 2.0: $844 + $40 delivery = $884 Upgrading to 180cm width * Battlestation: $1260 ($100 more) * Omnidesk: $955 ($100 more) * Zen Space: $974 ($90 more) == Also considered == I looked for some more brands for AU just through Google: * Officeworks: all don't go low enough * Varidesk: Only 120cm wide * UpDownDesk: $918 for fugly melamine top, $1038 for bamboo top * stand-up-desk.com.au: * $750 for Conset 501-33 with a controller I think? Very confusing, low lift capacity of 80kg * $910 for Conset 501-16 with a controller I think? better specs? * Cable tray ~$60 more * Single motor, honestly not sure if it matters, all others are dual motor * Manufacturer website more useful to figure out models: https://www.consetaustralia.com.au/ * Ergolink has a bunch of options, they're in Perth I think * SHIPPING IS A BIG UNKNOWN, THEY DON'T HAVE PRESET QUOTES * Buddy: $925 before shipping * Boost: $895 * weareminimal.com.au: cheapest Moov Desk is $1590 + $220 shipping but it's a real solid timber top = Decision making = There's two obvious contenders here, so what differences are there? || - || Omnidesk || Zen Space || || Min height || 60cm || 60cm || || Max height || 125cm || 125cm || || Load limit || 130kg || 140kg || || Move speed || 43mm/s || 36mm/s || * https://theomnidesk.com.au/products/omnidesk-pro-2020 * https://www.zenspacedesks.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/SPECSHEET_expert2.0.pdf They are damn close, so much so as to be a dead heat. It'll come down to soft factors like shipping availability and aesthetics. Pricing is only $20-30 difference. Both have width-adjustable legs, which I guess is good if I ever want to DIY my own tabletop from an old door or something.
